I bought this car as a loan dealer with about 10,000 miles. Less than a year. I now have over 28,000 miles on it. This car is wonderful to drive and to experience; however, over time the CVT’s computer “learns” your driving style and tends to “lock up” at low speed (less than 40 mph) with low acceleration, and makes a very clicking noise. noticeable … it is not subtle. Some call it jerks. For me, it got worse over time. My dealership has been great; however, he tells me that this noise is ok, that no damage is done and that it is characteristic of the current model of Quest. But, NO vehicle should vibrate like this. The dealership even “reprogrammed” the transmission, but in no time it was back in the bag and looks as bad as before. I should also add that while testing this vehicle when we bought it, I was not aware of this issue and certainly didn’t notice the noise until several months after we acquired it. . Very unfortunate, because apart from the jerk it is an excellent vehicle. Updated April 4, 2017. The van is a pleasure to drive, and since replacing a window seal to deal with air noise, I haven’t had any issues; HOWEVER, CVT is still not my favorite feature, as it has a bit of a mind of its own and can be difficult to modulate. Also, when driving in the mountains, you can’t use the transmission to downshift so the engine will slow you down on long descents. You can downshift, but that only allows for a top speed of 35mph, which is pretty pointless. Thus, the rotors tend to deform due to constant braking. I don’t often go to the mountains, but a trip or two damaged my rotors. Update 04/10/2017. 40,000 miles. No problem. The CVT is still not my favorite feature … more difficult to modulate than the standard transmission, especially when going slowly at low revs … tends to get stuck a bit and rumble. Always impressed by its seat comfort, its well modulated driving and its handling. The large covered storage space in the rear behind the 3rd row of seats is very practical, as are the folding seats in the 3rd row, leaving a very large flat cargo space in the rear. Would definitely buy again. Update 04/04/2018 … 45,500 miles. No problem, except that CVT is not my favorite feature. Great ride, handling and comfort.
