  • Supplier issues are to blame.

  • Both items were limited to the Platinum version.

  • The hybrid-only van will be launched soon.

The all-new 2021 Toyota Sienna is actually getting many of us here at Motor Illustrated excited. The promise of more space, extra efficiency and all-wheel drive sounds like a combination made in car heaven for parents. Unfortunately, for some who plan to get the best toppings, they will have to do without the fridge and the vacuum cleaner.

Seriously, while these features make headlines funny, given that they are, or were, limited to the Sienna Platinum trim in Canada and the US (empty optional on Limited), their absence won’t hurt sales. presentation tour spoke to Toyota and got this quote: “Unfortunately, due to a vendor issue, vacuum and refrigerator functionality will not be available at launch. Availability is TBD.”

As far as we are concerned, we can’t wait to try it. Just a few days ago, we had the opportunity to drive the all-new 2021 Toyota Venza and think the world of it. We can safely assume that the roomier and more powerful Sienna minivan will be just as good in every way.
