To clarify, these images show the Korean Sedona market, where it is known as “Carnival” and where Kia has decided to add a new phrase to the automotive industry lexicon to better describe the thing: “Large Utility Vehicle Or GUV.
We understand, at first glance, it looks like a three-row SUV, not the van we’re used to, but the sliding doors and low ride height are telling, it’s a classic vehicle.
The design is decidedly square too, but that’s a good thing. LED daytime running lights surround Kia’s âTiger Noseâ grille, which has been heavily styled. Inside the grille is a chrome diamond pattern, as well as high beam headlights.
The side profile has been rectilinear and now features a diamond patterned C-pillar with chrome surrounding the rear window.

At the rear are the kind of full-width taillights that manufacturers seem crazy about these days, with a Kia badge in the center.
The only teasers were these footage, so we don’t know what powertrain might be hiding under that square hood. It is possible that the Sedona 21 will continue to use the current 3.3-liter V6 developing 276 horsepower; or he could see an upgrade to the Telluride’s 3.8-liter V6, which produces 291 horsepower.
The Carnival will go on sale in South Korea at the end of the third quarter of 2020; it will be unveiled in North America as the Sedona shortly thereafter, when we learn more about pricing and powertrain options.
