A big hassle. Inconvenient. Heavy. Nowhere to put things. Embarrassing. Hard.
These are all ways of describing things parents don’t want to hear or think about in their vehicles. Especially their minivans.
Instead, they want convenience and ease of use, storage, connectivity, and space.
If you dream of a smooth rideshare experience, or maybe the perfect family trip, you might want to consider the all-new 2021 Toyota Sienna.
Here’s how the 2021 Toyota Sienna is practical, spacious and affordable for you and your family.
2021 Siena mpg
Perhaps the most difficult aspect to get used to with this fourth-gen 2021 Sienna is the fact that it’s only available as a hybrid. Yes, a hybrid.
This next-generation minivan combines a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine with two electric motors to produce 245 net hybrid horsepower.
The main reason that many people are considering a hybrid vehicle is the improvement in gas mileage. The 2021 Sienna front-wheel drive has ratings of 36 mpg city / 36 mpg on the highway / 36 mpg combined.
It’s mind-blowing and will save people a lot of money at the pump, especially on long road trips.
If you’re worried about the lack of power and acceleration due to its hybrid roots, I suggest you visit your local Toyota dealership to test it out for yourself. My impressions with the new Sienna are that it is smooth and quiet and that it accelerates well.
I will be curious to know what you think about it.
Toyota Sienna 2021 deck apron
Take a look inside a new 2021 Sienna and you’ll immediately see just how advanced this latest generation is.
Toyota calls the table bridge separating the two front seats a bridge bridge. At first glance, it can give an impression. However, look again and you can see how much storage is provided here.
There is storage under the deck. It’s great for storing handbags, diaper bags, and the goodies you want out of sight.
There are plenty of cup holders (up to 18) and flat surfaces to hold phones, wallets, books, keys, and anything else you can imagine.
Smart idea. I wonder who invented this one. I wish it was me.
Lots of USB ports in 2021 Sienna
Each passenger now has access to plug in and charge or play. Look for seven USB ports in total. Three in the first row, two in the middle and two in the third.
I think we all know there will be more need for connectivity every year in the future, and Toyota Sienna has us ready to go. I love the fact that I was able to integrate the slogan “moving forward” into my story.
A hands-free Toyota Sienna
I recently wrote an article on Torque News about the side doors and tailgate of the 2021 Sienna.
Here’s the link: Look, Sienna is hands-free.
All Toyota Sienna 2021 XLE and higher trim levels have the ability to open and close the sliding side doors and tailgate with a simple movement of the foot.
I have tested this several times. Doors are activated quickly with this process and it takes very little learning curve to master them.
VIDEO DEMO: See the hands-free Sienna in action.
Really easy to use.
I’ll take “Sienna Potpourri” for $ 1000 please Alex
A few other cool features jump out at me and might intrigue you as well.
– Bird’s Eye View camera gives drivers and passengers a clear overview to see how close potential obstacles can be. This is especially useful in parking lots and will help to avoid a lot of wing bends.
– The optional digital rearview mirror clears obstructions from the rear seats and shows a clear picture of what is behind the vehicle.
– I find the third row seats easier to install and store than the previous generation.
