This camouflaged little minivan is hard to identify at first glance, but a second and third look suggests that it is a version of the Japanese Nissan Serena minivan. However, these prototypes were captured in Colorado. Could Nissan work on the next generation NV200 or Question vans? We do not yet have an official word from Nissan on this.
The current NV200 van is intended for commercial use and comes in the form of a van or taxi. However, many competitors in this space, like the Ford Transit Connect and the Ram ProMaster City, offer minivan versions.
Updating the Nissan NV200 van to offer more configuration options and a three-row passenger version would surely be a good thing.
These prototypes resemble the existing Nissan Serena minivan that is currently sold in Japan. The Serena is available in several trim levels, including luxury versions. The Serena is powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine.
While this type of van can successfully replace the existing NV200 in the United States, it seems too unorthodox to replace the Nissan Quest van.
